Wim Driehuis, Ph.D.

After studying economics at the University of Amsterdam, Wim Driehuis worked at the Central Planning Bureau (CPB) in the field of business cycle analysis. He obtained his PhD cum laude on this subject at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

He has been a professor at the UvA’s Economic Faculty since 1973, where he has successively held appointments in macro-economics, market research and applied economics.

Wim was also director of SEO Economic Research, co-founder of ACLE (Amsterdam Center for Law and Economics) and worked at EMIS N.V. and at PwC in the field of competition issues in particular. After his retirement, he was involved as an expert in a large number of proceedings regarding business interruption losses and other company damages. In recent years, he has published a number of critical articles about the methodology used.

Since January 1, 2020, he has joined Sman Business Value as advisor.
